After a few weeks of a brutal new meta,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers received some fantastic news that a nerf was coming for the season’s most overpowered weapons. However, this nerf came and went, leaving mostCall of Duty: Warzonefans disappointed in the changes made to one specific gun.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s DMR nerfwas exciting when it was first announced, as the weapon has been decimating players since early into the first season of the game. Broken beyond belief and killing players in a few shots regardless of how much armor is being worn, members of the community began to consider the game unplayable upon the DMR 14’s rise to popularity. While the nerf was supposed to stop the gun’s reign of terror in the battle royale game, that has not happened.

Players quickly found thatthe DMR nerf was not effectiveenough, as one of the most overpowered weapons inCall of Duty: Warzonehistory remains largely untouched. With the weapon only seeing its recoil increased and headshot damage lower, it kills just as quickly when hitting players in the chest or other parts of the body. With the tactical rifle’s regular damage output and fire rate being the primary causes for concern, it is understandable that theCall of Duty: Warzonecommunity sees the attempted nerf as a half-measure.
After several complaints from content creators and players alike, Raven Software acknowledged the weapon’s partial nerf. While not mentioningCall of Duty: Warzone’s DMR problemdirectly, Raven’s post can clearly be viewed as a direct response to the outrage. The studio says that it is “constantly monitoring feedback and pushing for the best gameplay experience,” adding that “constructive thoughts” from the battle royale’s player base are both welcome and encouraged. As is usually the case, theCall of Duty: Warzonecommunity shared their feedback.
Alongside requests for an FOV slider inCall of Duty: Warzoneand demands for Double XP token changes, dozens of comments pushing for a further nerf to the DMR can be seen. With the community so vocal in their hopes for change, it is hard to imagine that the DMR will not be nerfed again. With said nerf likely to take place sooner rather than later, fans of the gun should make use oftheir overpowered DMR loadoutsbefore the weapon becomes far weaker than it currently is.
With Raven Software also needing to address major exploits likeCall of Duty: Warzone’s bot lobbies, the studio clearly has a lot on its plate. However, hopefully this DMR situation can still be dealt with soon, as many players have been finding a lot less enjoyment inCall of Duty: Warzonesince the gun first appeared.
