Summary

Raven Software announced thatCall of Duty: Warzone’s previously revealed feature, the Covert Exfil, will be delayed until further notice. The Covert Exfil was going to be a new way forCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers to win a match, and was previously planned to be released on January 17 as part of the Season 1 Reloaded update. While this might come as surprising news to some fans, Raven Software explained its plans for the future ofWarzone’s new win condition.

Call of Dutyannounced the Covert Exfilfeature just two days ago alongside the reveal of the rest of Season 1 Reloaded’s content. Following its announcement, manyWarzonefans expressed their disapproval of the Covert Exfil feature, claiming that it defeated the purpose ofWarzone’s cutthroat atmosphere. The feature would have allowed up to five teams to purchase a Covert Exfil and leave the match early, awarding them a win in the new Covert Exfil leaderboard section. It seems thatWarzone’s main development studio, Raven Software, has listened to this feedback and is restructuring its plans for the feature.

Raven Software explained that the Covert Exfil feature will not launch withCall of Duty’s Season 1 Reloadedupdate due to fan feedback. Instead, the feature will be implemented in a future mode centered around the new Covert Exfil and Weapon Case features. The Weapon Case feature, also originally intended to launch with Season 1 Reloaded, will be held back as well until this new mode launches. Once implemented, a Weapon Case will spawn at the beginning of every match and its location will be highlighted on players' maps. Players who pick up the Weapon Case will be marked for all enemies, but if a player successfully exils with the Weapon Case they and their squad members will be given exclusive rewards. Raven Software did not specify when the future mode that implements these features will be released.

Although this news reduces the amount of new content coming toWarzoneon January 17, the battle royale will still receive the new Champion’s Quest and a night vision public event for the Gulag. On the other hand,Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer will receive a ranked mode, new maps, new playlists, and more.
