Call of Duty: Warzone 2is suffering from a bug where players are getting killed by stationary vehicles. While mostbugs that players encounter inWarzoneare harmless, some have the potential to completely ruin a player’s chance at victory. That’s the case with this bug, which somehow turns completely stationary vehicles into deadly weapons. There isn’t much that players can do about this bug other than to try and be careful not to trigger it and have an understanding of what might cause it to occur.
Vehicles are already a somewhat controversial feature inCall of Duty: Warzone 2, with some players feeling like they serve little to no purpose or simply overcomplicate the game without reason. Others really enjoy the inclusion of vehicles in the battle royale game, so there’s no clear answer about whether they should be removed from the game just to avoid a bug like this.

Redditor McCloudUK shared one instance of this bug to the social media platform, but it is clearly more widespread than this single instance as many players in the comments complained about similar things happening to them. In the short video, McCloudUK is seenparachuting down onto theWarzone 2train trackstowards a train that is completely stationary. They land safely on the ground but die immediately after making contact with the immobile train. The game seems to be treating the scenario as though the train hit the player, but this definitely didn’t happen.
There are a couple potential explanations for this bug. The first possibility is that it isn’t really a bug at all, and that the train actually had just started moving slowly when McCloudUK made contact with it. If this is what’s happening here, Activision may need to revisit how much damage to playersWarzone 2vehicles do based on their speed, as the train is moving so slow that it looks stationary. It’s also possible that the train itself just has a hitbox with damage that somehow was activated even though the train was not moving.
Regardless of what caused it, this is obviously pretty frustrating to experience. Players might be having an extremely good game only to have theirchances of winning theWarzone 2match demolishedby a completely stationary vehicle. In order to avoid this bug, players should simply treat all vehicles as though they are moving fast enough to kill until the bug is addressed. Hopefully a fix for this comes soon.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
