Having found its footing after a rocky start, Treyarch is settling into the role of showrunner for theCall of Dutyfranchise. Today, the developer announced the Double XP weekend will run until Monday, January 4 in bothBlack Ops Cold WarandWarzone. While the formula behind the experience system has some folks perplexed, with fans wondering ifXP rates were nerfedrecently, the chance to get double experience generally pleases most players. This particular Double XP weekend focuses on character levels, which means faster leveling of Prestige Ranks, something that is more of a benefit to players ofBlack Ops Cold War.
Any Double XP event is appreciated by fans, as there have been someissues with the Double XP Tokens inBlack Ops Cold War. Because the timed tokens count down even when not in a game mode, fans feel as though they are being shortchanged. Especially with the newBlack Ops Cold Warweapons, and a fresh new Battle Pass to level up, some players losing time in menu screens after activating a token are frustrated.
