Dependent on Faith or Arcane stats, Incantations are a form of magic separate from Sorceries which scale with Intelligence. There are many healing and other supportive Incantations, as well as those that deal damage, and they all requireSacred Sealsto be cast.
With the introduction of theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC, there are now even more Incantations inElden Ring, and the best DLC Incantations are up there with the best from the base game. All of these new Incantations can only be found in the Land of Shadows, but players can use them wherever they like.
5Minor Erdtree
Continuously Heals Allies In The Area
With theMinor ErdtreeIncantation, players are able to plant a small Erdtree on the ground which will heal themselves and any allies over a set amount of time. In that sense, it’s similar to Warming Stones. However, the fact that it requires 70 Faith to be used makes it inaccessible to many, and it’s not strong enough on its own to warrant players leveling up their Faith so high.
If players already have over 70 Faith on the other hand, then it’s a great option to havefor large boss fights. With how unrelenting some of theShadow of the Erdtreebosses can be, there often isn’t time to use other healing spells or potions, so having one continuous AOE heal for the Tarnished and any allies is a difference-maker. To acquire Minor Erdtree, simply head to the field of flowers in the Shaman Village, located in the Scaduview region.
4Bayle’s Flame Lightning
Dragon Communion Incantationsare acquired by slaying dragons and taking their hearts to an Altar of Dragon Communion, and forShadow of the Erdtree, this isthe Grand Altar in the Southern Shore region. If players can take down Bayle the Dread, they can exchange his heart for either Bayle’s Tyranny or Bayle’s Flame Lightning.
While both are strong,Bayle’s Flame Lightningis arguably the best, and players will surely enjoy the sensation of slowly floating up before slamming down a hammer-like strike with both fire and lightning. When used against slower bosses or large groups of smaller foes, the results match the epicness of the animation.
3Land Of Shadow
Fires A Hail Of Golden Projectiles Toward Foes
If players are looking for a spell that channels the power of the Scadutree, then look no further than theLand of ShadowIncantation. Visually, this spell is easily one of the best, and thankfully, it’s as powerful as it looks. After a fairly long channel time, the Tarnished summons multiple golden projectiles, which will then fly at any nearby enemies, tearing them apart.
Despite being one of the best DLC Incantations inElden Ring, only one spell slot is required, making it even more valuable. To unlock Land of Shadow, players will need to beat a boss known as the Scadutree Avatar, in a region near the base of the tree. They can then take the Remembrance of the Shadow Sunflowerto the Roundtable Hold.
2Knight’s Lightning Spear
Hurls Lightning Spears While Firing Additional Spears From Ancient Dragon Crests
Despite requiring only 36 Faith and costing the same in FP,Knight’s Lightning Spearis a standout performer among new Incantations. This is because it deals terrific damage thanks to all the extra spears thrown, and yet it does not have a long cast time. One of the best parts of this spell is that if players are interrupted while casting, although the main spear won’t fire, the additional ones will.
To get their hands on Knight’s Lightning Spear, players will need to head towards the Scorpion River Catacombs in the Rauh Ruins region. While exploring these Catacombs, players should come across a room full of deadly eyes. In this room, there is a ledge that leads to a secret room behind the eyes, and it is here where the Incantation is found.
1Light Of Miquella
Annihilates Foes With A Pillar Of Light
Light of Miquellais not only one of the best Incantations inShadow of the Erdtree, but it is also among thebest Incantations inElden Ringas a whole. After a long cast time and sending up a damaging pillar of light high into the sky, players can then sit back and watch as the same light descends on their foes, dealing even more colossal damage. Incredibly, they can do this from afar.
Accordingly, players will need 72 Faith to use this spell, and it’s no surprise that it takes up two spell slots and costs 48 FP to cast. To acquire this Incantation, players will need to defeat Promised Consort Radahn in Enir-Ilim, and thentake the Remembrance to Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
