Players must choose their race from a list of commonD&Draces, they must select their core stats, and build their class like they would in an actual tabletop session. Once that is done, they are thrown into a game with a combat system ripped straight from the pages ofDungeons and Dragonsand filled with dice rolls that can significantly alter the direction of any situation.
It feels almost exactly like an actualDungeons and Dragonscampaign, and that leads to a fantastic experience. Players will likely sink days into exploring every single corner of this world, andDungeons and Dragonsfanswill be able to pick up on pretty much every single Easter egg that Larian has put into the game. The game also includes iconic locations from the Emerald Grove and the Underdark to Baldur’s Gate itself, and that should bring a smile to anyD&Dfan’s face.
All theD&Dstuff inBaldur’s Gate 3is great to see, but Larian Studios did not stop there. The studio created full character sheets for each origin character that seem ready for an actualDungeons and Dragonscampaign. Everything that players would need is included, each character starts at level one, the sheets have a unique art style, and the fact that Larian included them makes this entire package even better for fans of the tabletop game.
