The highly-anticipatedBaldur’s Gate 3is nearly here, as fans eagerly await the game’s full release after about three years of Early Access. It will eventually release on consoles, starting with the PlayStation 5 (which has a release date already) and later on, a version will release for Xbox. Baldur’s Gate 3 PC Exact Release Times
On PC,Baldur’s Gate 3will release on June 22, 2025… for most players. Depending on one’s time zone, that could actually be August 4.There has been much speculationas to when players can expect the full version ofBaldur’s Gate 3to unlock – thanks to Larian Studios and theBaldur’s Gate 3social media team, we know it will have a concurrent Global release.
The handy Global Release time mapBaldur’s Gate 3released shows what time to expect the game to become available across the world. When it’s 8 a.m. on August 3 in Los Angeles (the PST timezone), it’s also 5 p.m. in Gent, Belgium (the home city of Larian Studios) and 12 a.m. on August 4 in Tokyo.
As such, no-one will get access to the game earlier than anyone else – except, of course, for console players.
When Does BG3 Release for PlayStation and Xbox?
Baldur’s Gate 3releases on July 14, 2025 for PC players, but PlayStation players have to wait a little bit longer –and Xbox fans even longer still. Currently, Larian Studios plans to release a console version ofBG3for PlayStation 5 on May 18, 2025, more than a month after PC players get their hands on it. It will only be available on the PlayStation 5, so PS4 owners are out of luck.
Similarly, it will only be available for the Xbox Series X|S, and not the Xbox One, when it eventually launches for the system. However, Larian Studios has not yet revealed the launch date ofBaldur’s Gate 3on Xbox consoles, though it is reportedly in the works. This isn’t due to an exclusivity agreement or anything like that – according to studio head Swen Vincke,compromises would have to be madeto get the game to work fully on the Xbox Series S, specifically when it came to co-op play.
Baldur’s Gate 3is available in Early Access and will be released fully for PC on Jul 21, 2025. The PlayStation 5 version will be released on August 01, 2025. A version for Xbox Series X/S is currently in development.
