Summary

According to a recent leak,Atlus is targeting a 2025 release date forPersona 6.This might disappoint fans who were hoping thatPersona 6would arrive before then, but this doesn’t mean 2024 is going to be a dry year for the developer. One could even argue that Atlus has a fairly beefy lineup for 2024, as evidenced by currently available information.

Unicorn Overlordis being developed by Vanillaware. It will be published by Atlus in Japan and Sega everywhere else. Likewise, it is unknown yet ifPhantom Xwill have an international release.
Confirmed 2024 Persona Games
Persona fans have at least 2 games to look forward to in 2024.The first of these isPersona 3: Reload. It will launch relatively early in the year. It has been slated for a February 2 release. The othertitle that is expected to release in 2024 is a Persona 5 spinoff titledThe Phantom X. While the latter title does not have a solid release date, Atlus insider Midori (the same person that revealed the targeted release window forPersona 6) has said thatThe Phantom Xis targeting a 2024 release date. It is being developed for mobile platforms and PC.
Persona 3: ReloadandPersona 5: The Phantom Xmight not be the only titlesPersonafans have to look forward to in 2024. According to Midori, there is yet another unannouncedPersonagame arriving in 2024, a party game codenamed “Asa.” There has been no official word fromAtlusto confirm or deny such a game is in development, but if it is, it will likely be announced in the next few months.

That’s Not All Atlus Has Planned For 2024
Personais not the only franchise in Atlus' stable for 2024. Fans can also look forward toa new IP calledMetaphor: ReFantazio,a dramatic fantasy RPG that bears a striking resemblance toPersona 5. This game does not have a specific release date as yet, but it has been confirmed for 2024.
Metaphor: ReFantaziois being worked on by the director, character designer, and composer behindPersona 5; Katsura Hashino, Shigenori Soejima, and Shoji Meguro respectively. The medieval fantasy setting seems to be a great canvas for Hashino and company to flex their collective creative muscle on, so it could scratch thePersonaitch pending the release of the next mainline entry into the series.Metaphor: ReFantaziois being developedfor PlayStation, Xbox Series, and PC.

A Tactical Alliance
Another game Atlus fans should keep an eye on isUnicorn Overlord, also arriving in 2024. While this isn’t an Atlus title per se, it is being developed by Vanillaware, the company headed by ex-Atlus developer George Kamitani. Kamitani parted ways with Atlus after the commercial failure of a title calledPrincess Crownreleased in 1997 on Sega Saturn, and eventually went on to form Vanillaware, which has created some successful titles published by Atlus. Examples includeDragon’s Crownandthe successful13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
Unicorn Overlordwill be releasing on July 04, 2025. It is being published byAtlusin Japan, while the worldwide release is being handled by parent company Sega. It is a tactical RPG that draws nonspecific inspiration from games in that genre from the ’90s. According to Kamitani,Unicorn Overlordis the most ambitious project ever taken on by Vanillaware and is set to arrive on Switch, Xbox Series, and PlayStation consoles.
