Kick streamer and formerTwitchpersonality Adin Ross explained why he didn’t visit Andrew Tate in jail. Previously, Ross had been open about his friendship with Tate, even after the latter wasarrested by Romanian authorities.

Tate was known for his controversial posts on YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch, and was also banned on a number of social media platforms because of his problematic views. On December 2022, Romanian authorities would arrest him and his brother Tristan, and also seize Tate’s entire car collection. DespiteRoss saying that Tate put him on his visitation list, his viewers noticed that he hadn’t made the trip to Romania, and criticized him for not visiting or contacting to his friend. In a recent Kick stream, Ross addressed the criticism, claiming he was told that he would be arrested if he visited Tate in jail. The streamer didn’t provide any details as to why exactly he would be arrested if he showed up in the Romanian jail where Tate was detained, but he emphasized that he’s apologized to his friend for not being able to make the trip.

Ross also apologized to his fans who seemed disappointed by his alleged lack of effort to visit Tate. He further explained that he and Tate were still on good terms. As of writing,Tate had been released from prisonand placed under house arrest, so it might still be impossible for the two friends to see each other in the near future.

Before moving to Kick,Ross had been permabanned on Twitchafter violating the platform’s policies multiple times in the past. Although it seemed like he’s found a loyal audience on Kick, many have continued to criticize him for his problematic behavior, including a heated transphobic rant during one of his streams.

While many have considered Kick as a viable competitor toTwitch, there are still numerous people, including streamers, who are skeptical about the platform. Popular creators like Pokimane have slammed the streaming platform for allowing gambling and other NSFW streams for underaged viewers to potentially see. On the other hand, there were also many creators, such as xQc, who have signed million-dollar deals on Kick because of Twitch’s policy changes. There’s definitely still time for Kick to fix its existing issues, and truly become the next big thing in streaming.
