The younger sidekick of Bruce Wayne has been seen as the bright-eyed boy wonder Dick Grayson and the darker Damian Wayne later in the comics. But how would Reeves bring Robin to the big screen again and who would be behind the mask? Here are five actors that could play a great Robin to Robert Pattinson’s Batman.

Updated June 30, 2025, by Ritwik Mitra:The Batmanis an excellent movie that puts a lot of emphasis on Batman’s work as a detective; more so than any other movie featuring the Caped Crusader. It’s a fresh take on one of the most popular superheroes of all time, with Matt Reeves doing a brilliant job of orchestrating a successful return to form for the Bat. With the wild success of this movie pretty much guaranteeing a sequel, here are some great actors that could possibly take on the role of Robin in future installments.

Stranger Things Finn Wolfhard Netflix

Finn Wolfhard

Given that Robert Pattinson plays the role of a younger Batman, it’s probably a given that Robin should be even younger. Finn Wolfhard is definitely a character who could pull this young Robin off.

He’s a great actor who has shown a commanding screen presence already inStranger Things. There’s no reason to doubt his skills, and playing the role of a young and energetic Robin could be perfect for his style of acting.

Zac Efron

Zac Efron

Gone are the days when Zac Efron used to be the teenage heartthrob that everyone drooled over. However, that’s not to say that he’s grown too old, with his youthful looks still making him a great option for Robin.

His range of acting is pretty diverse, and people can definitely see Efron nailing the role of Robin. Whether this will become a reality is anyone’s guess.

Silence Adam Driver

Adam Driver

Adam Driver’s breakthrough role as Kylo Ren inStar Warshas been nothing short of incredible, with the actor gaining worldwide fame for nailing this role to a T. While the quality of the new trilogy itself is up for debate, there can be no denying that Adam Driver was one of the series' better parts.

Sadie Sink as Ziggy Berman in Fear Street Part Two; 1978

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he would absolutely crush it if given the opportunity to portray Robin in a sequel toThe Batman. A partnership between him andRobert Pattinson’s Batmanwould be a sight to behold.

Sadie Sink

Most people simply aren’t aware of the fact that Robin was portrayed by a female character in the comics too. This really opens up the role quite a bit, with a multitude of actors and actresses being a perfect fit for the character.

Sadie Sink is another member of the cast ofStranger Thingswho has earnt her place on this list. This brilliant actress has proven her acting chops on Netflix’s show time and time again and watching her play the role of a young Robin would be pretty refreshing indeed.

Jack Dylan Grazer

Jack Dylan Grazer

At just eighteen years old, Jack Dylan Grazer is another great young actor who could take on the responsibility ofbeing Robin inThe Batman’s sequel. His performances inItandShazam!have already proven just how talented this actor really is.

Given that he was technically the accomplice of the main hero inShazam!, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he already has enough experience in working a sidekick role. Only time will tell whether he will actually be offered the role of Robin further down the line though.

Lucas Hedges

This actor could be great for any way Matt Reeves would potentially want to take Robin as a character. Hedges has portrayed sweet and snarky men inLady BirdandManchester by the Sea, his performance in the latter as Patrick Chandler earning him an Oscar nomination at just twenty years old.

Lucas has also played much more tense roles as a boy forced into conversion therapy inBoy Erasedand an angry teenager in a production ofYen. With mostly independent films under his belt,The Batmancould be just the role to bring Hedges into mainstream Hollywood.

Maisie Williams

If Reeves wants to make a statement with Robin, why not cast a woman and create a girl wonder instead of a traditional take? Probably known best for her role as the strong-willed Arya Stark onGame of Thrones, Williams finally has time to take on different roles. Since the finale of the beloved HBO show, she’s been hard at work with guest appearances onDoctor Whoand even a role in the long-delayedThe New Mutants, so superhero films are under her ever-growing belt.

Williams is also no stranger to fight scenes thanks to her time onGOT, so training to become Robin would be a breeze for her. The Robin she could create could be as scrappy as Arya was in the beginning seasons or something else entirely.

Asa Butterfield

This next actor definitely looks the part of Robin thanks to his dark hair and bright blue eyes. Butterfield has been acting since he was seven years old and has an impressive filmography for his age. The London-born actor hopped onto the scene with a heartwrenching performance inThe Boy in the Striped Pajamasand eventually went on to work with the likes of Martin Scorcese andTim Burton.

Asa could play a sweet and awkward version of Robin, which could create a comedic dynamic between the boy wonder and Pattinson’s grizzly Batman. Butterfield currently stars as Otis Milburn in the Netflix seriesSex Education, which has recently released its third season.

Jordan Fisher

Jordan Fisher may seem like a choice out of left field, but the actor has proven himself worthy of the role of Robin. Fisher was first in guest roles on numerous Disney and Nickelodeon shows likeLiv and MaddieandiCarlybefore starring landing a knockout role inGrease: Live.

The actor has done mostly music-focused roles like Jake Taylor inWork Itand Jamie Porter inHigh School Musical: The Musical: The Series, but has starred in the horror video gameUntil Dawnand recently played a minor superhero. In 2021, Fisher joined the cast of CW’sThe Flashto play Bart Allen, Barry Allen’s future son and a Speedster in his own right. His caring persona and good looks could be a nice angle for a potential boy wonder.

Timothee Chalamet

Chalamet has been a fan-cast mainstay for Robin for a while and it’s for good reason. Not only does the actor have the dark hair and boyish face of the comic book version of Dick Grayson, but he can also definitely handle a darker take on the character, something that Batman director Matt Reeves would try to shoot for if Robin was written into a potential film.

The actor is about to prove himself ten times over with the upcoming and highly anticipated adaptation ofDunecoming later in October. His time working on the science-fiction epic could definitely help him with making a film on the scale of The Batman as well.
