Taking this into consideration, there are a plethora of plot points and stories that Capcom could very well have in store for players when the time comes, especially after the ending ofDevil May Cry 5, leaving fans anticipating more.

5Dante & Vergil In Hell

Given the hinted reconciliation between theSparda twins Dante and Vergilat the end ofDevil May Cry 5, it has left many far more intrigued when it comes down to their relationship. Being separated for most of their lives other than their childhood, the brothers were always pitted against each other given the two differing motivations and aspirations between them.

Now, with the pair stuck in hell, and Nero forcing his father and uncle to end their rivalry, it would be suitable for Capcom to pick off right where the last game left off, potentially giving fans a fresh story, in the aspect of Dante and Vergil finally acting as brothers and not enemies. Since previous entries in the series have stuck with the long-running rivalry between the brothers in one form or another,Devil May Cry 6would be the best opportunity to finally change this for the better.

Vergil

4Nero Replacing Dante

Following the ending ofDevil May Cry 5once again, Dante’s words to Nero before finally leaving with Vergil certainly hinted towards the fact that Nero would now take on the role of Dante, and his ‘Devil May Cry’ Devil hunting business. While it may be hard for players to accept aDevil May Crytitle without the opportunity to play as Dante, it isclear Capcom has been working towards Nero becoming the new main protagonistbased onDevil May Cry 4and5.

Given the great deal of time players have spent with Nero through two of the franchise’s installments, and the amount of growth in the aspect of strength and maturity within this character, it would be no surprise to seeDevil May Cry 6put players front and center as a powerful and far more formidable Devil Hunter in Nero.

3Prequel

Just as the series' third entry did, fans could very well be in store for a prequel. WithDevil May Cry 1and2starting players off withDante right in the mix of Devil Hunting, its story only became a full circle by the timeDevil May Cry 3 Dante’s Awakeningwas available. Not only did it explain the events of the first game in particular quite well in regard to whoNelo Angelowas, but it also gave fans an insight into a younger Dante as he gradually became the legendary Devil Hunter he’s known as.

WithDevil May Cry 6, Capcom has the opportunity to finally address one of the biggest mysteries of the franchise, with Sparda and how he died. While it would be controversial for some fans to see aDevil May Crywithout its main characters Nero and Dante at the forefront, it would open up the door to deeper lore and understanding of what occurred long before the Sparda twins became what they currently are.

Nero vs Vergil

2Nero Seeks His Mother

Considering its complete omission from the story, fans would not be expecting the sixth installment’sstory to revolve around a search for Nero’s mother, but this is not in the realm of possibility. Since this could essentially play no pivotal factor in the story or Nero’s character whatsoever, fans may not particularly see any point to this addition, but it could be key to giving Nero more understanding of his origins.

While learning that Vergil was indeed Nero’s father based on the assumptions from fans, and hints from Capcom duringDevil May Cry 4, many still speculate as to who his mother truly is, many even suggesting it could be one of the characters that fans have known. It is unlikely to be a main focus of a new installment, but it would be great to see this addressed in some capacity.

Vergil talks with Nero

1Dante, Nero & Vergil Reunion

Following in the same footsteps as its predecessor,Devil May Cry 6is highly likely to have all three of its main characters reunite at some stage in the story. The manner of5’s pacing within characters' arcs and gameplay allowed players to becomeaccustomed to controlling Neroand V through a large portion of the game’s opening, before regaining control of the beloved Dante, constantly switching between three different characters in each mission.

If the sixth installment is to stick with this same formula in the manner of its pacing, then this would be the perfect way to go, and seeing a more mature, powerful, and intimidating Nero reunite with his newfound biological family would be interesting, to say the least.
