Dragon Ball Superwas an action-packed series, and the studio involved with the anime delivered a lot of quality episodes. It was a great experience for all the fans, however, as is always the case, the series wasn’t perfect. There are a lot of things that can be done to ensure that the sequel toDragon Ball Superwill be even better.
10The Essence Of A Good Anime: A Good Plot
Dragon Ball Superwas seriously lacking when it came to the plot. A lot of the fans were extremely disappointed with the below-average story ofDragon Ball Super. It was underwhelming and there’s no doubt that the story could have been made better.
Due to the lack of a proper story,Dragon Ball Supernever hit the heights that it could have. The Future Trunks saga inDragon Ball Superwas outstanding, and more arcs like that would make the sequel an even greater hit with theDragon Ballcommunity.
9More Attention Needs To Paid To Other Characters
Goku has been a crucial part of everyDragon Ballseries, and, as expected, he was at the center of things inDragon Ball Super. Whilst this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, having Goku continuously in the spotlight can come at the detriment of the development of other characters.
There are many other pivotal characters in the series, such as Gohan, who could have used a bit more attention. The unwavering recognition given to the main character ruins the chance of others received interesting arcs of their own. Some fans, then, will be expecting that the sequel handles the other important characters with more care. Goku may be the face of the series, but he’s far from the only fan favorite.
8Fights Need To Be More Engaging
Dragon Ball Superconsisted of a lot of fights. The Tournament of Power was packed with some outstanding ones. Goku’s bouts versus Jiren and Kefla were some of the best in the arc, perhaps inDragon Ballhistory. There were other good fights in the series, which provided a great deal of entertainment to the fans.

Some of the fights inDragon Ball Superwere great, but there were also a lot of inconsistent ones (they could be a little too long at times as inDragon Ball Ztoo). This is something that the sequel should improve on, to bring even long-time fans something they haven’t seen before.
7The Quality of Animation Should Be Consistent
When it comes to animation,Dragon Ball Superwas also inconsistent, tending to produce either a high-quality episode or a low-quality one. The studio working on the episodes tried to make the series as enjoyable as possible. The fight between Jiren and Goku was outstanding, while on the other hand,Goku’s bout against Beerus (in which he almost lost his life)had some major flaws.
Due to the sharp decrease in the quality of animation for some episodes,Dragon Ball Superdrew a lot of criticism from the fans. The sequel should definitely strive to retain a constant standard of animation.
6Limiting The Number Of Power-Ups
Dragon Ball Superintroduced a lot of power-ups. Usually, it isn’t a bad thing to debut new powers in the series, but it’s important to tread carefully. When there is already mass confusion regarding power levels, it makes the new powers very unappealing.
WhenDragon Ball Superintroduced Ultra Instinct, a lot of fans reacted negatively. They felt that another power-up just made things even more complicated. As such, it would be a good idea to limit the number of power-ups that will be introduced in the future.
5Not Too Many New Characters
EachDragon Ballinstallment introduces a lot of new characters, which can provide a breath of fresh air. The new characters allow the fans to see the creative side of theDragon Ballteam as well as introducing new personalities to embrace, but there is a drawback to having a lot of characters.

Dragon Ballhas an incredibly large cast, which means there is almost every kind of character present in the series. The introduction of new ones is unavoidable in a sequel, but too many at once would cause chaos and prevent the fans from enjoying the older characters.
4Older, Less Iconic Characters Being Given More Limelight
One of the biggest complaints aboutDragon Ballis its handling of older, less iconic characters. They just don’t get as much attention as the newer additions. This is a shame, as many of them still have so much to offer.
A sequel focusing on the older characters a bit more would bring back the fans who enjoyed the previous installments ofDragon Ball.After all, nostalgia is a very powerful (and often very profitable) tool.
3The Revival Of Gohan
Gohan’s growth as a character has been dormant for a long time. He was one of the headliners ofDragon Ball Z,wherehe proved his worth in several great fights (such as versus Dabra and Buutenks). Many viewers were expecting Gohan to shine inDragon Ball Super, but they were let down. Gohan was a spectator in most of the fights and, overall, just wasn’t as involved as the fans would have liked.
A sequel would provide the creators with a great opportunity to evolve him a little more. Without a doubt,there is still huge potential in Gohan as a character (he can even do things his father can’t)and he definitely deserves to be more prominent.
2Vegeta Getting His Moments To Shine Too
Vegeta is Goku’s rival, which naturally makes him one of the main characters in the series.At one point, Vegeta was stronger than Goku, but now the tables have turned with the latter pulling ahead in terms of power.
Vegeta hasn’t been completely overlooked, but he was on the receiving end of some terrible losses inDragon Ball Super.He was humbled by Hit in the Tournament of Power (his ego often gets the best of him)and handsomely beaten by Golden Frieza. With Goku awakening Ultra Instinct, Vegeta has some serious catching up to do. The sequel should give him an opportunity to do just that.
1Introducing More Female Characters
The female characters inDragon Ballare very well-written.Android 18 and Bulma are arguably among the best and strongest female characters in the series. However, there aren’t nearly enough like them in the series.
Dragon Ball Superintroduced new female characters in Kale and Caulifa and both of them were excellent additions to the cast. The two of them were a surprise package in the Tournament of Power. The sequel should build on this and introduce more powerhouse female characters, a move which would only contribute further to the popularity of the series. New cast members should never be added simply for the sake of it, but thoughtful new additions made sparingly would be very beneficial for the diversity of the show.
